MWHR would like to give a very special thank you to the Bennett family, especially Caitlyn, for supporting MWHR this past weekend at the Ticket To Ride Benefit Horse Show. Caitlyn and Hocus Pocus showed off their dressage skills in a demonstration on Friday evening to help create awareness about how wonderful and talented these mustangs truly are in any job.
We had an awesome time at Ticket To Ride Benefit Horse Show this weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing MWHR as your charity and supporting our efforts!! Ticket To Ride generously donated the proceeds from the Ride a Buck and Chicken Run Challenge classes on Friday night to MWHR.
Our mustang ambassadors, Hocus Pocus (left) and Roo (right), are getting ready for their dressage demo at the upcoming Ticket To Ride Benefit Horse Show on July 7th. In addition to the mustang demonstrations, we will be having the Tack Thing Event on Friday and a silent auction on Saturday.
Mark Your Calendars for July 7th and 8th!!! Ticket to Ride Benefit Horse Show is sponsoring MWHR again this year. Check out the event info on our FB page for more details!
Ally finally arrived at the MWHR farm late yesterday afternoon. She has been staying with one of our sister rescues, Hope Reins, until we had room for her. We are so grateful for their help in picking Ally up and giving her a safe place to stay the past two months. Ally will spend some time settling in at the farm and then our trainer will begin to work with and evaluate her. We know she is 18 years old and was captured as a 2 year old from the Reveille HMA in NV. Her previous owner says she has been ridden so hopefully some TLC and a little training refresher and then she’ll be ready for adoption.
We had another exciting “first” at the MWHR farm this past weekend. Smoochie had his first ride with MWHR volunteer, Stephanie. He was such a good boy. This little guy is definitely something special for sure
We’re excited to report that Smoochie is continuing to make great progress in his training and over the weekend he got saddled for the first time. Excited to see this handsome little guy finally under saddle
Adoption day is always bittersweet but we are so happy for Midnight and Michele. Midnight is so loved and we know we’ll get lots of updates since Michele is one of our dedicated volunteers😍🐴
We love having the young ladies from the Pope High School Homeless Pets Club out at the MWHR Farm. Last Sunday only two of their members made it to volunteer, but those young ladies got to spend lots of quality time grooming the mustangs – Midnight, Molly, Smoochie and Wren. The horses loved their spa treatments!
We had another very busy and productive Work Day at the MWHR farm this past Saturday. Thank you again to all the wonderful volunteers who came out and helped clean up the pastures, groom horses, and fix fences. As usual, we were too busy to take pics but after all the hard work was done the horses were very happy
